EFCC Arrests Ex-Imo Governor, Ohakim

Ikedi OhakimThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has woken up to its responsibility with the reported arrest of a former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim.

According to PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Ohakim, who was governor of the Southeast state between 2007 and 2011, was arrested Thursday at about 10.05 am at his residence in the Asokoro district of Abuja.

It was widely reported that the former governor had shunned an invitation to appear at the anti-graft agency’s headquarters on Wednesday to answer questions bordering on a number of choice property allegedly linked to him.

The report states Mr. Ohakim is currently being detained, with his interrogation expected to begin later in the day.

In a related development, former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has willingly surrendered himself for questioning almost the same time Mr. Ohakim was brought into the EFCC headquarters in Abuja.

The ex-governor, who recently returned from a three weeks’ vacation abroad, is currently undergoing interrogation by the commission’s operatives over alleged bribery and money laundering offences.

  1. The ONLY thing that Black Governments get right occasionally…
Arresting their corrupt leaders (decades after the crime was committed) and executing corrupt leaders.

Unfortunately, the Black Governments also regularly murder their moderately competent leaders and regularly murder their (extremely rare) uncorrupt leaders.

So it all evens out… strongly in the favor of idiocy, incompetence, corruption, and mass-murder.
You might want to fix that eventually.
