Juventus have confirmed the signing of Paulo Dybala from Palermo on a five-year deal.
Dybala’s transfer cost Juve €32m (£23m) and could rise to €40m (£29m).
Juve said in a press release: “Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces that the agreement with U.S. Città di Palermo S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Paulo Dybala has been finalized. The consideration for the acquisition is € 32 million payable in four financial years.”
The 21-year-old Argentinean enjoyed an excellent campaign with Palermo, scoring 13 goals in 34 Serie A outings last season.
Nicknamed ‘La Joya’ – The Jewel – in his native Argentina, Dybala seems destined to follow in the footsteps of other South American players – notably Edinson Cavani and Javier Pastore – who made their European bows with the Rosanero before going on to excel in the UEFA Champions League.
