Kwankwaso Urges Saraki Not To Destroy The APC With His Ambition

Bukola Saraki

Former Governor of Kano State and Senator representing Kano Central, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has warned the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, against using his ambition to destroy the All Progressives Congress (APC) which they laboured to build.

In an interview with newsmen in Abuja, Kwankwaso expressed regret that the Senate President had used his ambition to destroy party discipline. He opined that he should be punished for his actions.

The former Defence Minister also said that the position of Deputy Senate President, currently being held by Ike Ekweremadu, did not belong to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and must therefore be returned to the APC. He pointed out that for the 16 years that PDP ruled the country, at no time did the opposition get the benefit of having such a position.

He declared that he was very qualified to contest the Senate Presidency because he was the only governor that gave President Buhari 1.9 million votes, which is 100 percent in Kano state and the only Senator that gave the party 750,000 from his senatorial district. However, he since the President came from his zone, they agreed to give the seat to another zone which was middle belt.

Kwankwaso lamented that Saraki’s ambition has given the PDP an opportunity to reap where they did not sow, as they were rejected in the polls by Nigerians.

On the way forward, he said if he were the party chairman, he would personally write to each APC Senator and House of Representative member to express his displeasure over the unfortunate incident.
