A 12-year-old boy has met his untimely death as he was swept away by flood in Ejigbo, a suburb of Lagos State.

The incident occured following the two days torrential rain that hit parts of the metropolis. It was reported that the flood created a grid lock traffic, forcing commuters to walk long distance on foot since most roads were inaccessible to vehicular movement.

However, it has not been confirmed if the young boy had died as search for his body is still ongoing as at the time of filing this report.

An eyewitness said the boy’s body might have been washed away to a canal at Orilowo area of Ejigbo.

Meanwhile, the image maker of South West Zone of the National Emergency Management Agency has confirmed the incident, stating that his men would continue the search to recovery the body.

The flood also chased out a popular nollywood actor from his Lekki home, forcing him to seek refuge elsewhere.
