Serena Williams has advanced into the semi-final of the Roland Garros following straight sets win over Sara Errani.
Williams hit 39 winners and 23 unforced errors en route to a 6-1 6-3 win at the Philippe-Chatrier.
Errani, who came into this match on the back of a 19-3 win-loss record has yet to win against the top seed in nine matches.
“The last four French Opens in a row she’s been to the quarterfinals or better, so I knew I had to be really focused today,” Williams, 33, said. “She does so well here, and she really fights for every point.”
She was only broken once in eight service games as she closed out victory in 65 minutes.
The American will face 23rd seed Swiss Timea Bacsinzky, who saw off Belgian professional Alison Van Uytvanck 6-4 7-5.
