FC Taraba Ask Coach Ogharanduku to Stand Down

Struggling Glo Premier League side FC Taraba have sacked head coach Tony Ogharanduku.

The Jalingo-based team suffered a 2-1 home defeat by Warri Wolves in a rescheduled Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match on Thursday.

“I was on the bench (vs Warri Wolves). My assistant took charge of the match. I was asked to step aside,” former Mighty Jets player Ogharanduku said.

Ogharanduku was named Ndubuisi Nduka’s successor last season and managed to save Taraba from relegation.

The club is faced with financial troubles in recent times as its players have not been paid for over six months.

Taraba are rock bottom of the Nigerian top flight with 13 points after 18 rounds of matches.
