Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has signed for French Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille after turning down approaches from Premier League club West Bromwich Albion.
Arsenal signed Diaby from Auxerre in 2006 and the Frenchman went on to spend 9 years. Injuries unfortunately limited the 29-year-old to just two appearances over the past two seasons.
Following his release by the Gunners earlier this summer, Diaby was offered an opportunity to stay in the Premier League by West Brom after completing an extensive medical, but he turned down the Baggies’ offer in favour of a move back to France.
Diaby made just 22 first team appearances for the Gunners in the past four seasons.
He has been capped 16 times by France, scoring once.
