Marcelo Sign Contract Extension At Real Madrid Until 2020

Marcelo has signed a two-year contract extension at Real Madrid, expected to keep him at the Spanish club until 2020.

The Brazilian left-back joined the Los Blancos in January 2007 and has made 320 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals.

He is currently one of the club’s four captains and confirmation of his contract extension ensures new manager Rafa Benitez is not at risk of losing his defensive ‘strongholds’ in a short while, with Manchester United continuing in their pursuit of Sergio Ramos.

Marcelo, who made his debut for Real at Deportivo La Coruna in 2007, has won the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Super Cup, three Spanish La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey medals, two Spanish Supercups and the Fifa Club World Cup.
