USWNT Striker Morgan Goes With Messi on Historic FIFA 16 Cover

U.S. Women National Team (USWNT) striker, Alex Morgan, has been chosen to grace the cover of famous football video game, Fifa 16, for the first time in ages after the game publishers, EA Sports, announced it will include women football in It’s forthcoming edition.

This comes on the heels of the United States’ triumph at the 2015 Fifa Women’s World Cup in Canada, where the USWNT defeated Japan 5-2 to win their third title, with Morgan making her seventh appearance at the football showpiece final matches.

Morgan, 26, who only goal at the finals came in the 2-0 last-16 win over Colombia, was delighted after the video game cover was unveiled in the United States on Monday evening.

She is not the only woman, whose picture will appear on the cover of Fifa 16, as Canadian fans of the video simulation are also celebrating their national team captain Christine Sinclair, along with Australia international Stephanie Catley.

An average of 2.8 goals were scored per match in Canada, with every team making an average of 28.2 attempts at the tournament.
