efcc-chairman-ibrahim-lamorde1-360222345Journalists and visitors to the Federal High Court, Kano, were disappointed on Wednesday as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, failed to arraign a former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, and two of his sons, Mustapha and Aminu, over alleged money laundering.

The EFCC was expected to arraign the trio in court on Wednesday but failed to produce them despite having filed the charges against the suspects in Kano on Tuesday.

The prosecutor, Mr. Simeon Akpah, attributed the inability of the EFCC to arraign the suspects to flight problem from Abuja.

Ex-Governor Lamido and his two sons are to be arraigned in court on 24 counts of alleged mismanagement of about N1.3bn and abuse of office.

Lamido was alleged to have awarded contracts, valued at N1.3bn, to some companies, believed to be owned by his children.
