Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa State will tomorrow relocate to Karu local government area in the Nasarawa western senatorial district of the state for a seven-day working visit.
As part of his official visit to the area, the governor will undertake a tour of priority projects as well as map out strategies for the timely completion of selected projects within the axis.
Among the projects to be inspected are the Karu international market, access road in Kabayi, and Angwan Hashimu and the upgrading of the Mararaba Gurku general hospital.
Almakura, who made the decision during an inspection tour of Mararaba orange market bridge, also gave contractors handling the project one month ultimatum to complete the construction of the bridge or risk revocation.
He directed the contractors to also ensure that the bridge is put to use in the next 30 days to alleviate the sufferings of road users along that area and reduce congestion because of the deplorable condition of the road as a result of the collapsed bridge.
Gov. Almakura stated further that he will also use the visit to ensure that the task force along Keffi-Abuja high way is sustained to ensure sanity along the road just as he noted that he will use the opportunity to map out areas suitable for traders in the informal sector to decongest the busy high way trading.
