Striker Jarmy Verdy scored to help Leicester City share the spoils at Bournemouth on Sunday.
Callum Wilson’s opened scoring for the Vitality Stadium hosts via a superb overhead kick but every effort for a first home Premier League win for the newcomers fizzled out few minutes to the referee’s whistle.
Lee Tomlin made his first Premier League start for Bournemouth, coming in for Josh King as Leicester brought in N’Golo Kante for fellow new signing Shinji Okazaki.
Four-goal Riyad Mahrez was an early scare for coach Claudio Ranieri when he appeared to have picked up an injury with just 20 seconds on the clock, but the Algerian was back on his feet after a few roll on the ground. He had the ball at the back of the net later on but was correctly chalked off for an offside.
Leicester continued claiming early days’ brighter chances with lone striker Verdy curling an effort just over the bar from inside the box on 18 minutes.
The Foxes were made to rue their lack of precision 6 minutes later when last week’s hat-trick hero, Wilson, improvised an overhead kick to power the ball into the visitors’ net from a Max Gradel flick-on header.
The Cherries introduced Tyrone Mings for his league debut at the break but lasted only ten minutes before leaving the pitch on a stretcher after seeming to land awkwardly on his ankle following a strong challenge with Danny Drinkwater.
Goalkeeper Arthur Boruc proved a handful for Leicester, producing a fine save to deny Jeffrey Schlupp before turning away a teasing Drinkwater cross from the right in the closing 20 minutes.
Vardy stepped up to convert Leicester’s equaliser four minutes from time after the striker was tripped in the goal area by Steve Cooke and salvaged a point for his in-form side.
Leicester have now recorded eight points from four matches and are yet to lose a game this season.
