Firefighters in Australia shared photos from a rescue that involved dismantling a washing machine to free a man trapped up to his waist.

Bankstown Fire and Rescue officials said they were called to a Lakemba home on a report of a 22-year-old man whose legs had been trapped inside the front-loading washing machine for at least three hours.

Paramedics took the man to a local hospital as a precaution, firefighters said.

“It’s definitely one of the most unusual jobs we’ve had,” station officer David Cross told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Cross said the man is mildly autistic and had been trapped in a washing machine on at least one occasion prior to the July 26 rescue.
