NLC Leadership Tussle Resolved – Wabba

WabbaThe leadership crisis rocking the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has been resolved and anyone trying to create further division should understand that the body serves the overall interest of the working class and the larger Nigerian society, NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, has said.

He made this known in Kaduna yesterday while speaking with reporters when he paid a condolence visit to the family of Malam Yahaya Hamza, the foster father of Governor Nasir El-Rufai, who died recently.

“The misunderstanding has been resolved. It is the imagination of some people to try to create division within the NLC and try to factionalize us. But we have soon realized that we do not serve our own personal interests. I think we should emphasize more on the work that is supposed to be done than the disagreement that is no more there. The work that is waiting to be done is more important than the imaginary division and fiction that people try to create and make it look big”.

“We are one and from the same family. We stand for the same ideology of representing the interest of the working class and that is primarily a responsibility all of us must work towards. And our actions inactions must not undermine that very important responsibility. I can say emphatically that we have had some misunderstanding but at the end of the day we must work together to deliver on our mandate.

So, all of us are committed to resolving the issues for the interest of our union and the interest of the Nigerian workers”, he said.

The NLC president declared support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption campaign, saying that is what labour had been canvassing over the years and what all Nigerians of good conscience should support.
