One Important Lesson I Learnt From Obasanjo – Fani-kayode

Femi-Fani-Kayode-Olusegun-ObasanjoA former Aviation Minister, David Oluwafemi Olukayode, formerly known as Femi Fani-Kayode, has revealed one very important lesson he learnt from his former boss and ex-President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

The former minister, in a Facebook post, said Obasanjo taught him to remain silent in the face of wild and unsubstantiated statements by ignorant people.

He wrote; “One of the things that I learnt from my leader, President Olusegun Obasanjo is that one must never respond to the ignorant, the uncouth, the uncultured, the unlettered, the unrefined and the accursed.

“He also taught us never to join issues with the embittered, the obsessed, the imbecilic, the foolish, the living-dead and those that are emotionally, psychologically and intellectually challenged. Rather than a response, such sad and sorry souls are only deserving of our prayers and our pity”.

Meanwhile, Mr. Olukayode has waded into the silent war ongoing between former Governors of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his successor, Babatunde Fashola.

Tinubu is believed to be behind the recent startling revelations on how Fashola allegedly mismanaged public funds during his eight year stint as governor of the nation’s commercial capital.

Signs that all is not well between the national leader of the All Progressives Congress and his protégé came to the fore last week when prominent APC leaders including Governors of APC-controlled states in the South-west, who are loyal to Tinubu, stayed away from a book launch held in honour of Fashola.

Writing in a separate post on his Facebook, the former PDP presidential campaign spokesman advised Fashola to go and beg Tinubu before things get further messy.

He wrote, “Things are getting messier by the day. My advice to Tunde Fashola is to go and make peace with his benefactor, Bola Tinubu, before it is too late”.
