Senate Again Proceeds On Six Weeks Recess

The Senate on Thursday embarked on another recess, which will last six weeks.

Since the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly in June, Senators have gone on recess four times, without debating any bill. Likewise, they have only sat for 15 days in two months.

The motion to proceed on recess was unanimously approved by the lawmakers at the end of the plenary chaired by the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

They are to resume on September 29 September.
