Tijani Babangida Gets New Super Eagles Role

Former Nigeria international Tijjani Babangida has been appointed special assistant and liaison to Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh.

The retired Super Eagles winger and former coach of FC Taraba played alongside Oliseh at Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam.

Babangida is expected to join up with the senior national team at their training camp when it opens in Abuja next week Sunday, according to AfricanFootball.com.

Nigeria are away to Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier next month.

Babangida helped FC Taraba win promotion to the Glo Premier League for the first time in their history in 2013.
