Mild Drama As Senate Begins Sitting Without Mention Of Ministerial List

SenateThe waiting game for President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list continues as the Senate on Wednesday began sitting without mention of any communication from the Presidency.
The norm is before the commencement of proper legislative business for the day, any correspondence from the president is treated as priority above any other matter.
Although the Senate is still in plenary, the time is ticking for the deadline given by President Buhari to announce his ministerial nominees.
This apprehension was captured by Senate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio, who raised a point of order that Senate President Bukola Saraki had finished reading the matters for legislative discussion without the announcement of the ministerial list.
“The president had promised to announce his ministerial nominees today and the Senate president has finished reading the day’s announcements without it, why?” Senator Akpabio queried?
The Senate president decline offering an explanation but Senate leader, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, pointed out that the legislative day had not elapsed and urged Akpabio to be fair.
Saraki, however, ruled the minority leader out of order, saying the explanation given by Na’Allah, was ‘explicit’ enough.
