PDP Zones 2019 Presidential Ticket To North, Asks Buhari, EFCC To Probe Amaechi’s Tenure

PDP1With about four years to the 2019 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party has begun to reposition itself to return to power with its declaration Wednesday that the presidential ticket of the party has been zoned to the North.
Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, who stated this in Abuja when the party’s post-election review committee led by Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu submitted its report, also said PDP would not repeat the “mistakes” it made in 2015.
According to Secondus, the move was informed by the PDP’s plan to act in line with the vision of its founding fathers.
While stressing that the party would act on the report of the Ekweremadu committee so as to be able to provide a robust opposition for the APC-led government, the acting national chairman said for the PDP to move forward, it must obey the zoning system and constitution.
Mr. Secondus reiterated the PDP’s commitment to reclaim the presidential seat from the governing All Progressives Congress, APC.
The PDP boss also asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to probe immediate past governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, who he said has a lot of questions to answer for his time in office.
Delivering his report to the national leadership of the PDP, the deputy Senate president also commented on the failure of the president to send his ministerial list to the Senate as promised, saying governing the country without a properly constituted cabinet was a breach of the Constitution.
“I am not worried because I knew they would never be ready with the list on the 30th, Ekweremadu began. “So, I predicted what is going on. Because the APC seemed to be very comfortable ruling without the ministers which is an obvious breach of our Constitution because the framers of the Constitution envisaged government of unity”.
