Sturridge and Henderson Nearing Liverpool Return

Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge could return for Liverpool in no distant time.

Midfielder Henderson has missed the Reds last four games due to a heel injury while striker Sturridge has not played since May.

Sturridge underwent hip surgery during the summer in the United States and Henderson was also in the States this week to have injections.

Liverpool hosts Norwich City on Sunday and manager Rodgers had some positive news during his press conference that the pair have both been in training heading into the game at Anfield.

“Jordan will train today, Daniel has been training with the team for a week or so, so will be assessed,” the northern Irish boss said.

“We’ve got players hopefully coming back that will add to the squad and see us go on a run of games.

“A player who can get you 25+ goals per season is going to be missed. Jordan’s impact has grown during my time here. When you miss players of that caliber, it’s going to have an impact.”

The Merseyside outfit will be looking to rebound from back-to-back defeats to West Ham and Manchester United against Norwich. They are currently 10th in the table with seven points from their first five games.
