For Calling Chelsea Striker, Costa A ‘Cheat’, Zouma Says ‘Sorry’

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma says “sorry” about commenting that his team-mate Diego Costa “likes to cheat a lot.”

The French centre-back was quoted as telling beIN Sports reporters after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday that: “Everyone knows Diego and this guy likes to cheat a lot and put the opponents out of his game, and that happened in the game.”

Striker Costa clashed with Gunners centre-back Gabriel, who was sent off, during the game at Stamford Bridge. He has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association and has until 18:00 BST to respond.

“Sorry for any confusion,” Zouma said. ”English is not my first language. I did not mean to accuse anyone of cheating.”

Zouma scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues when he nodded in a Cesc Fabregas free-kick at the far post.

Costa swiped his hand at the face of Arsenal defender Laurient Koscielny before clashing with Gabriel.

Gabriel has also been handed a charge of improper conduct.

  1. it is true Costa, Drogba like to cheat. Thats why 80percent of Chelseas goals are from penalties and offside and when they are not flying or scoring from offside the goals disappear and chelsea finds itself where he belongs
