Two female suicide bombers struck Dala Yazaram, a community in the suburb of Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, northeast Nigeria on Saturday morning, a member of the youth vigilante group, Solomon Izge, told our correspondent on phone.
One of the suicide bombers was able to detonate the explosive device strapped on her, leading to the death of two other persons within the community and herself.
The detonated bomb also led to many injuries. Izge said the injured and the corpses have been taken to the general hospital in Maiduguri.
The other suicide bomber was however caught before she could detonate the explosive on her by the youth vigilante in the area.
Izge said she was detained and would be handed over to the military for further action.
