PIC. 24. PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI (R), RECEIVING HIS NATIONAL IDENTITY CARD FROM THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL, NATIONAL IDENTITY MANAGEMENT COMMISSION (NIMC), MR CHRIS ONYEMENAM, AT THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA IN ABUJA ON WEDNESDAY (14/10/15).

The Director General of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), Chris Onyemenam, on Wednesday presented President Muhammadu Buhari with his National Identity Card at a brief ceremony, which held in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The president did not make any remarks during the presentation.

Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the presentation, the NIMC boss said the database of about 20 million Nigerians have already been captured.

He said: “We did two things. First we demonstrated to the President how the national identification number can be used to confirm the identity of an individual, even if the person is not present and that is the reason why we said the identification number is a security number, because with that and if you have access to our database, you can confirm the identity of an individual.

“Secondly, we presented the electronic card to the President and we demonstrated to him how it will be taken round. This is one Rome that was not built in a day”.

  1. Oh Lord! They’ve started again. Unnecessary show of public stunt to brainwash the masses that they are working. Is the DG saying that since National ID card had been issued,PMB has not obtain his ID card? No wonder the president refrained from making any statement. Shame on the DG,just a publicity stunt.
