The acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus, has pledged that under his watch, no member of the party, no matter how influential, would be allowed to hijack the party.
He made the pledge on Tuesday at Legacy House, Abuja, when a group known as PDP Rebirth Forum, paid him a courtesy call.
The acting national chairman stressed that the PDP belonged to all especially “the common man”.
According to Secondus, with the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP approving the zoning of the 2019 presidential ticket to the North, the youths would play a significant role.
He, however, pointed out that all members of the party must work together if the PDP must succeed in its quest to bounce back to power in 2019.
Mr. Secondus added that the youths and women must be actively involved in running of the party and elective positions without hindrance.
“The PDP will not belong to any influential person; it belongs to all members especially the people at the grass-roots. It is the democratic asset of Nigeria. It belongs to the common man. No influential person will stop the youths from realising their political ambitions of becoming governors or members of the National Assembly”, he said.
