Police Invade Rustlers’ Hideouts In Kaduna, Recover Ammunition

POLICEThe Kaduna State Police Command, said on Tuesday that it had recovered 94 cows, 45 sheeps and assorted ammunition in a raid on various cattle rustliers’ hideouts in the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Zubairu, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna that no arrest was made, as the rustlers fled after gun battle with the police special anti-cattle rustling team.

He however said that a locally made Revolver Pistol, empty AK47 Rifle Magazine, knives, military camouflage and a set of house breaking tools were recovered.

According to him, the operation was carried out at Katari, Jere, Chikawali and Akilibu villages along Kaduna-Abuja highway.

Zubairu said the police were still on the trail of the suspects and would be duly prosecuted when arrested.

The command’s spokesman assured that the fight against cattle rustlers would continue until the menace was wiped out in the state.

He commended the police team for its gallantry and solicited the support of the general public to enable security agencies rid the society of criminals. (NAN)
