Godswill-AkpabioThe governorship election petition tribunal in Gombe State has upheld the election of Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

In its ruling on Wednesday, the tribunal dismissed a petition filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the April 11 election, Inuwa Yahya.

The tribunal said the petitioner simply “wasted the time of the tribunal”.

It also accused the petitioner of deliberately attempting to defame the tribunal while the case lasted.

While rejecting Yahya’s petition, the tribunal fined him N3, 500.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom Legislative Elections Tribunal sitting in Dutsen Alhaji district of Abuja, has upheld the victory of Godswill Akpabio as a Senator in the March 28 election.
