Former Provost Marshal of the Nigeria Army, Brig. Gen. Idada Ikpomnwen has slammed the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) over the allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari’s war against corruption was selective.

Ikponmwen, who is also a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, said: “I think all those accusing the President of selective justice, such as the PDP, saying that he is only dealing with perceived opponents and people of rival parties is just a distraction. Unacceptable and damaging distraction which Nigeria cannot afford at this time.

“I believe that the best for Nigeria now is Muhammadu Buhari. The most outstanding quality that made Nigerians go for him is his incorruptibility and transparent life pattern and he obviously is the man who can change Nigeria by infusing selflessness and transparency into all facets of Nigeria life both public and private.

“The PDP should shut their mouth in shame. They had opportunity to move this country forward over one and half decades, they did not do it rather a cabal grew within the group, growing in misrule that worsened from day to day and leaving nothing but anger and frustration to Nigerians. We have started moving forward even by mere presence of a leader that is known to be genuine and committed to the progress of this country.

“We must all build on that gain by having personal commitment in the change to transparency and good governance of this country. Nigeria does not lack good people, the problem in this country is for those good people to be properly utilized. We must change our values and stop worshipping and glorifying those who ought to be in jail and who ought to be black listed. For too long have we had undeserving people getting honours from government and titles from traditional rulers.

“Efficiency at all levels especially in government must be improved and all organs of government must fully imbibe the change living no room for trading blames and for unnecessary unhealthy rivalry. The PDP created all these problems and they must stop deceiving themselves. I believe that Nigeria is on the right course and God willing we will make it as a nation,” he said.
