Nigerians have been cautioned against making unwarranted criticisms so as not to run down the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari or portray it in negative light.
The Chairman, South-east Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Igwe Cletus Ilomuanya, gave the warning in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Thursday while assessing the cabinet recently inaugurated by President Buhari.
Describing the president as a “disciplinarian, firm, forthright and steadfast Nigerian” who is dedicated to the unity of the country, Ilomuanya said that while criticism was good for democracy and good governance, it should not be intended to run the government down.
He said if the government fails, all Nigerians would suffer.
Igwe Ilomuanya, who is the Obi of Obinugwu and also chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, pleaded with Nigerians to exercise patience with President Buhari’s style of leadership, pointing out that the president means well for the country.
