The family of former Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has denied rumours making the rounds that she is dead.
Sources close to the family denied the rumour, which spread like wildfire on social media on Thursday, insisting that she is still alive.
According to the report, the former minister died and is being prepared to be flown back to Nigeria on Saturday from the United Kingdom, where she has been receiving treatment for breast cancer since May.
“The report is untrue. She’s alive and well”, a family source said.
In November, a photo of a frail-looking Alison-Madueke published by Dele Momodu’s The Boss online newspaper, went viral.
It would be recalled that the former minister is undergoing investigation for alleged money laundering by both the National Crime Agency in the UK and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
