A commuter train on today December 6th plowed into a parked passenger bus at a railroad crossing in Indonesia’s capital of Jakarta, leaving 14 people dead and 10 seriously injured.
According to Tambora neighbourhood police chief, Wirdhanto, the bus driver ignored the warning signals when he crossed the rail tracks and was rammed by the train. Wirdhanto said that 13 people died instantly while one died in a hospital. He added that none of passengers on the train headed to Jakarta’s neighbouring town of Bogor with about 400 passengers, were hurt.
