A court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday, 16th December 2015 upheld the ruling of the River State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which annulled Nyesome Wike’s victory in the April 11 Rivers State gubernatorial poll in the state. With Jonathan and Patience no longer in power and PDP gradually fading out, anything can happen, so against this backdrop, INFORMATION NIGERIA takes a look at 4 things that could happen if APC wins…
– All the alleged sins of Amaechi will be forgiven: Recall the report of the state judicial commission of inquiry which indicted Amaechi on allegations of corruption, allegations of foreign bank account against him by Wike, allegations that Amaechi wrote to Bancorp in Switzerland, stating that he deposited funds in error, how he allegedly left Rivers bankrupt and why the Senate had issues screening as ministerial nominee?
– Claiming territories in Nigeria: Unlike before where most Nigerian states were controlled by the PDP, gradually the APC would be claiming even more territories in the country if they win Rivers.
– PDP would loose its place as Nigeria’s biggest party: There was no doubt about the greatness of PDP up until the 2015 elections, which brought PDP to its knees. If APC wins Rivers, PDP sinks further down below.
– Bragging right of capturing the oild rich Rivers: If APC wins, it can eventually boost of taking possession of Oil rich rivers, one of the few states that could have been a consolation to PDP.
