The 2016 budget proposal submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari last December is ‘missing’.
The news of the ‘missing’ 2016 budget came on heels of the rumoured withdrawal of the document by the Presidency, a rumour that was shut down by the National Assembly and Federal Government.
According to a report by Daily Trust, the disappearance of the budget document was announced during a closed door session that lasted only 90 minutes.
Senators, who spoke to the newspaper, said that the disappearance of the budget was announced by Senate Leader Ali Ndume during the closed door session.
The Senators had just resumed from a three weeks recess to commence the consideration of the N6.08tr budget today.
