Pastor David Onubedo who is the overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Okene, Kogi state has been abducted by suspected kidnappers.
PM News reports that the pastor was abducted on Monday, January 25 in Okene, Kogi state.
The high ranking pastor was returning from the church’s bible study presided over by Pastor William Kumuyi, the general superintendent of the church, and transmitted to all Deeper Life Bible Church outlets nationwide, around 9pm when he was kidnapped.
A source close to the family said the kidnappers have reportedly contacted the wife of the victim demanding for N50 million ransom. Via a phone call, the kidnappers told the distraught wife to look for the money before her husband could be released.
Top officials in the church confirmed the incident although it was reported that they were not authorized to provide details.
Text messages are being circulated to Deeper Life members nationwide to embark on intensive prayers so that the kidnappers could release their leader.
:The message read: “Please, begin to pray and send prayer request to others for the release of Pastor Onubedo, a state overseer in Deeper Life Ministry who was reportedly kidnapped at his residence immediately after the Bible Study tonight (Monday).
“The pastor wants us to immediately enter prayer closets both as individuals, families and in groups for his immediate and safe release…key in quick.”
