NSDC Arrests 250 For Vandalism In Ogun

At least 250 persons were arrested for alleged vandalism of pipelines in Ogun State in 2015.

The Ogun State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Aboluwoye Akinwande stated this, yesterday, in Abeokuta, during the end of year press conference.

The State commandant said between January and December, 2015, the command was able to carry out 1,997 major operations and apprehended 250 suspects.

According to him, the 250 suspects were apprehended in the course of anti-vandalism operations while 12 suspects were allegedly involved in illegal private company issues.

He added that the State Command of the NSCDC has been able to carry out 950 disaster management and rescue operations in different parts of the state. Such operations cut across suicide, drowning fire, motor accidents among others.
