Former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has described as malicious, the call by Lagos lawyer Femi Falana that the International Criminal Court (ICC) should consider the minister for prosecution due to the arms deal scandal that happened during her tenure.
“The misadventure shows that the so-called learned lawyer does not have any idea what the mandate of ICC is about,” a statement by her media adviser Paul Nwabuikwu, entitled “A Response to Femi Falana, an integrity-challenged charlatan” said.
The ex-minister listed four facts to back up her position.
Mr. Falana had approached the International Criminal Court (ICC) demanding the trial of the former minister for alleged involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal.
