Talking about the ongoing war against corruption, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said corruption must first be taken care of, before anything else. Mohammed, who spoke when he visited two Hausa language-based newspapers in Abuja said all financial leakages should be blocked successfully else managing the country will be difficult. The Minister cleared stated his reasons why corruption must be eradicated from the land. In this piece, INFORMATION NIGERIA takes a look at Mohammed’s reasons…

– He said if corruption is not taken care of, even the 2016 budget, we will not be able to operate because what has been found out is that leakages in the nation’s finance is what is making the country bleed.

– He noted that although the annual budget has increased since 1999, poverty rate has remained on the increase because of corruption.

– He noted that no matter how low oil price falls, President Muhammadu Buhari would still be able to run the country efficiently, if corruption is stopped.

– He stated that money would be more than available for infrastructural projects if only the administration can deal with corruption.
