Audu Ogbeh – Starvation To Hit Nigerians By 2050: SEE What The Govt. Is Doing About It




According to the Federal Government by 2050, Nigeria population will rise to 500 million considering the current growth rate, saying if nothing is done to ensure an all year round farming, the population may starve to death. The Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh said this while speaking during the 2016 budget defence. In order to prevent this from happening, the government has highlighted what it has planned. INFORMATION NiIGERIA has put together the FG’s plans….

– Audu said the country had the capacity to intensity and consolidate on the local staples, the yams, the cassava,  the beans, especially rice and wheat. Both of which consume $11 million per day in import.

– The government has put necessary machinery in motion to stop the constant bloody clashes between herdsmen and farmers.

– The FG pointed out that there is sizable provision for grassing at hinterland, by developing water, drilling of boreholes and small dams to irrigate those areas already mapped out to provide nutritious grass for cows and also give a more stable life to cattle herdsmen.

Are this plans enough to save Nigerians from starving as the FG predicted???
