A baby boy, who was just one month old, cheated death when he started crying moments before being cremated at a funeral home in Jinhua, Zhejiang Province, China.
Little An An was born prematurely and spent nearly a month in an incubator of a local hospital before being taken home by parents. Shortly afterwards his condition worsened and he was rushed back to hospital, where doctors diagnosed a cardiac arrest and declared him dead.
The grieving father wrapped his son in a blanket, put his body in a plastic bag and took to the morgue of the Pan’an Funeral Home on February 4. The next day when morgue workers were preparing to cremate the boy they suddenly heard some squeals wafting from a disposal container.
“As soon as I pulled him out of the morgue, I thought I heard noises. When I pushed him to the crematory, the noises became louder.I opened the container and saw him moving, so I told the father the baby was still alive,” a worker said.
It turned out that the baby miraculously survived spending about 15 hours in a -12C morgue freezer. The boy was hospitalized for emergency care and is now under intensive care. Doctors at the Pan’an People’s Hospital can’t explain the incident, referring to it as a ‘miracle.’
