The number one trending topic on Nigerian Twitter this morning is #NigeriansAreNotCriminals, a social media protest against Buhari’s statement during an interview with UK Telegraph where he said;
“Some Nigerians claim is that life is too difficult back home, but they have also made it difficult for Europeans and Americans to accept them because of the number of Nigerians in prisons all over the world accused of drug trafficking or human trafficking”

Struggling Nigerians should not be called criminals rather the politicians
Why am I not surprised that some Nigerians will criticize Buhari for saying the truth? Majority of them are from that section of the country where most of the Nigerians in foreign jails come from. When Buhari fixes Nigeria, they will avoid going into crime by seeking gainful employment.
