Oshiomhole Compulsorily Retires Perm Sec., Sacks Edo Traffic Agency Boss

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has ordered the compulsory retirement of Augustine Akhuamhekhun, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities from Edo State Civil Service.

A letter signed by the Secretary to State Government, Julius Ihonvbere, dated February 19, 2016, said the retirement is with immediate effect.

Mr. Oshiomhole also sacked Austin Evbakhavbokun as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency, with immediate effect, a statement by his spokesperson, Peter Okhiria, said.

The governor directed the former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities to hand over any government property in his possession to the most senior Director in the Ministry, while Mr. Evbakhavbokun is to hand over any government property in his possession to the most senior official in the Edo State Traffic Management Agency not later than Monday, February 22, 20I6.

No reason was given for the sack or compulsory retirement.
