SEE What Fayose Makes Of Allegations About Him Receiving $37m From Jonathan

Mr Tope Aluko, former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti state on Sunday, made serious allegations about how the governorship election which brought in Ayodele Fayose as the Governor was rigged in his (Fayose) favour. Aluko in a widely publicised press interview alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave Fayose $37million to prosecute the election. However, in his defence, Fayose has said the All Progressives Congress masterminded the alleged confession of Dr. Tope Aluko amongst other things. Information Nigeria in this report, has put together Fayose’s views on the Aluko’s allegations…

– Fayose in a broadcast to the people of the state said the allegation by Aluko, that the military was used to influence the outcome of the June 21, 2014 governorship election in the state was “another ploy in the fruitless efforts by the All Progressives Congress to rubbish the mandate” freely given him by the people of the state

– In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, wondered when the opposition would stop licking their wounds when the election conducted about 20 months ago had been adjudged as free and fair and applauded by the election observers and the international community.

– Fayose said, all these steps are being taken by the APC to silence him because of his criticism of obnoxious policies of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration, but added vehemently that he cannot be silenced.

– He added that he felt sorry for Aluko because he had allowed those who rented him to do the dirty job to destroy him therefore bringing shame upon himself and his family.

– Finally, Fayose noted that Aluko’s ranting is also because he (Aluko) did not get the position he expected in his (Fayose) administration. Aluko, he said had complained that he was not made the Chief of Staff.

Recall that a voice recording which was released by SaharaReporters providing substantial evidence that major Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders planned and successfully rigged the gubernatorial elections in Ekiti State. The audio recordings depict the meeting as being attended by the eventual “winner” of the election, Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti; Senator Iyiola Omisore; a man identified as Honorable Abdulkareem; the Minister for Police Affairs Caleb Olubolade; and Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who was at the time the Minister of State for Defence. Do you think Aluko is right or Is APC truly trying to silence Fayose???
