The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), yesterday insisted that the national chairman of the party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) must leave office in May as approved by the various organs of the party.
The BoT’s insistence is coming on the heels of calls by some state chapters of the party that the position of the chairman of the party be retained in the northern part of the country in order to give the party a national spread.
Some members of the party have also been mooting the idea that Senator Ali Modu Sheriff should stay beyond the three months mandate given to him by the party’s National Executive Council in order to stabilize the party.
