PDP Will Reclaim Jigawa From APC Come 2019 – Sheriff

Ali-Modu-Sheriff

The National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has expressed confidence that the party would reclaim Jigawa State in the 2019 general elections.

Jigawa was governed by the PDP from 2007 to 2015 before the All Progressives Congress, APC, clinched the governorship seat in the 2015 general elections.

Speaking when he received a delegation of PDP groups who came in their large numbers from Jigawa State led by Dr. Aminu Abdullahi at the PDP national secretariat on Tuesday in Abuja, Sheriff said ‎Jigawa is a PDP stronghold, adding that the party would do everything democratically possible to reclaim the state in 2019.

“We lost the election not because PDP was not strong in Jigawa State but it was the movement at that time ‎that caused it. Now, we have learnt from our mistakes. So it is a matter of time.

“All the people who left our party in Jigawa will come back. The leadership of the PDP today will ensure that no one is lagging behind”, he said.

Speaking at the occasion, Abdullahi asked Sheriff to return the party to the path of glory, adding that the visit was to support the emergence of the former Borno State governor as PDP national chairman.
