The former factional Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dele Olugbemi, has said he took the former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State, Dr. Tope Aluko, to Governor Ayodele Fayose on Sunday for a peace meeting.
According to a statement by Olugbemi, he was surprised that Aluko addressed the press and claimed that he spoke to journalists on Sunday under duress after willingly attending the meeting on Sunday with the governor.
Aluko who had gone on TV to confess to being involved in some illegalities during the last governorship election in Ekiti State, had reportedly made peace with Fayose. However, hours later, he was back in the news debunking news of their reconciliation.
Olugbemi disproved claims by Aluko that Fayose stage-managed the reconciliatory meeting, adding that he and Aluko prostrated for Fayose three times to beg him to forgive Aluko.
