An emergency meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, is currently taking place with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presiding.
Our correspondent reports that the emergency FEC session was summoned to review the 2016 budget details transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday by the National Assembly.
The meeting started at exactly 11.10am when Osinbajo arrived the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.
Although President Buhari is in the country, it is unclear why he was not at the FEC meeting.
It was learnt that aside cabinet members, some heads of agencies and parastatals as well as several presidential aides, are also attending the meeting.
Immediately the meeting commenced, State House correspondents were asked to vacate the Council Chambers for the “crucial budget session”.
