FUEL SCARCITYAs Nigerians grapple with the combined problem of fuel scarcity and inflated pump price of premium motor spirit, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has warned all operators of petroleum product depots, filling stations and other stakeholders to desist from unwholesome activities of adulteration, hoarding, diversion and pump manipulation.
The Director of DPR, Mordecai Ladan, who gave this warning in a statement on Friday, also warned the marketers against these unwholesome acts to avoid untoward hardship to motorists and the general public.
The DPR boss said that every effort is being made to ensure that petroleum products supply and distribution situation in the country is normalized.
According to him, marketers must ensure that petroleum products get across to Nigerians timely and at the regulated prices.
“The security agencies in collaboration with the DPR will arrest and prosecute any errant marketer involved in sabotaging government commitment at making petroleum products readily available to Nigerians”, Mr. Mordecai said.
