A former gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi state; and managing director of Guroje Mining Company Limited, Abdullahi Usman Adamu is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for allegedly defrauding a Chinese national to the tune of N6.5 billion.
“A complainant, Fengquai Zhai, a Chinese, alleged that the suspect duped him over N6.5billion, after appointing him a shareholder with 30 percent share in his company, Solid Units Nigeria Limited, in partial fulfillment of the mandatory requirements for incorporation of a company in Nigeria,” a top EFCC source told The Guardian.
Adamu was last Monday, April 18, arrested by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in Bauchi from where he was transferred to the EFCC.
“The complainant further alleged that the suspect forged several documents at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), in an attempt to take over the company from him”, the source added.
He added that Adamu, in alleged connivance with one Yusuf Ali of Solid Unit Nigeria Limited also allegedly obtained the sum of N23.4 million from another complainant, one Olajide Olaleye who is managing director of TTMW Services Nigeria Limited.
