Justice Kafarati To Rule On Saraki’s Suit Today

Bukola SarakiJustice Abdul Kafarati of the Abuja Federal High Court, who earlier withdrew from the fundamental rights enforcement suit by Senate President Bukola Saraki, will today deliver judgment on the matter.
The judge had on March 22 announced he was stepping down from further hearing of the suit over a report online that he received bribe to deliver judgment in Saraki’s favour.
The report also alleged that N2 billion was found in Justice Kafarati’s private account.
However, following the intervention of the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Ibrahim Auta, the case has been re-listed for delivery today.
Saraki had, through his counsel, Ajibola Oloyede, asked the court to quash the 13-count charges bordering on alleged false assets declaration and corruption brought against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCB).
