Nabbed: NSCDC Arrests Dismissed Police Corporal For Extortion In Borno

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Borno, said it has arrested a dismissed police corporal for allegedly receiving ‘cases’ and extorting money from people in the Maiduguri.

The commandant of the corps in the state, Mr  Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this in an interview with our reporter in Maiduguri during the weekend

Abdullahi said the suspect was arrested in the act at the Post Office area in the state capital following intelligence report received from one of his victims.

He said that the 27-year-old, who gave his name as Hussaini Musa, was dismissed from the Kano state police command.

“The suspect is not holding any ID card, so he uses some of his pictures to deceive people that he is an officer.

“He came to Borno to visit his grand parent and decided to open his own police custody, he had defrauded so many people, but the recent one was N20, 000 from one of his victim in Bulumkutu area.

“He was handling a case of land dispute and had already collected N30, 000 and was expecting the balance of N20, 000 when our men apprehended him.

The suspect was said to have confessed that he had  collected money from many other people.
