On this day in 2010: Rebels in the restive Niger Delta claimed to have blown up a Shell pipeline in the creeks of the southern oil producing region and threatened further attacks.

Also on this day in 2010: The Federal High Court sentenced six (6) Ghanaians and one (1) Nigerian to eight (8) years in prison each after they were found guilty of stealing 4,000 tons of oil products.

Equally on this day in 2012: A suicide attack on a senior police official’s convoy in Taraba killed eleven (11) people, including one policeman.
